Director of Brand, Engagement & Membership
As Director of Brand, Engagement & Membership you will be a key member of the Executive Team, responsible for shaping and executing a strategy that strengthens British Triathlon’s brand, deepens engagement with our community, and drives membership growth.
About the Role
You will lead a multidisciplinary team to enhance brand visibility, create compelling engagement strategies, and develop membership propositions that appeal to both existing and new audiences.
In this pivotal role you will:
- Develop a forward-thinking strategy that enhances the British Triathlon brand, strengthens community engagement, and drives sustainable membership growth.
- Position British Triathlon as a leading sports organisation through impactful storytelling, digital presence, and partnerships.
- Oversee the development of marketing campaigns that promote triathlon as an inclusive and compelling sport for all levels.
- Develop and execute strategies to build and nurture engaged communities within the sport, from grassroots participants to elite athletes.
- Design, implement and develop initiatives to attract, retain and enhance the value proposition for British Triathlon members.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team across brand, engagement, social impact and membership functions.
- Act as a key ambassador for British Triathlon, representing the organisation at industry events and in media organisations.
We’re searching for someone with significant proven leadership experience in a strategic brand, marketing, engagement, or membership role, ideally within a similar industry. To be successful, you’ll need to demonstrate a strong ability to drive community growth and engagement in a customer-centric environment, as well as developing and executing membership growth strategies. You’ll be tech-savvy and commercially minded, with a genuine desire for developing talent and inspiring your team. A passion for sport and an understanding of the unique dynamics of the triathlon community are essential for this position.

Our new Director of Brand, Engagement & Membership will report into the Chief Executive Officer and will be an integral and valued member of the Executive Team. You’ll thrive through developing and maintaining trusted working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will head up our fantastic, dedicated, and talented Marketing & Communications, and Membership teams.
The role may benefit from our successful hybrid working model, where colleagues work from our Loughborough head office a couple of days a week, providing a supportive, collaborative, and fun working environment, but each role will have its own unique requirements.
