Active Flooring Solutions is a well-established commercial flooring contractor delivering projects on construction sites across the UK. We’re looking for a motivated Apprentice Floorlayer to join our skilled team. No previous experience is required. We’ll provide comprehensive training and support to help you develop the practical skills and knowledge needed to build a successful career in the flooring trade. This is a hands-on role where you’ll learn how to install a wide range of flooring, including carpets, vinyl and hardwood. With demand for skilled tradespeople continuing to grow, this apprenticeship offers an excellent opportunity to develop a valuable trade and build a rewarding, long-term career.
About the Role
This is a physically active position that involves lifting, carrying and working on your feet for extended periods, so a good level of physical fitness and stamina is essential. You’ll work across a variety of commercial construction sites across the North East and will need to hold a valid UK driving licence and be confident driving company vans. Working alongside experienced flooring professionals, you’ll learn to:
- Install a variety of flooring materials to a high standard.
- Use the tools, equipment and techniques required for professional floor laying.
- Prepare, measure and fit flooring accurately and efficiently.
- Work safely and maintain a clean and organised working environment.
- Develop your practical skills through hands-on experience on live projects.
- Take pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service.
What We’re Looking For
No previous flooring experience is required. We’re looking for someone who:
- Enjoys practical, hands-on work and is keen to learn a skilled trade.
- Has good attention to detail and takes pride in producing quality work.
- Learns new skills quickly and is committed to developing professionally.
- Can follow instructions and work safely and responsibly.
- Works well as part of a team.
- Is reliable, hardworking and has a positive attitude.
- Holds a valid UK driving licence and is comfortable driving vans.
What We Offer
- £20,995 per annum
- 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm
- 21 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
