Position: Team Leader – Full time, 42 hrs per week, Salary £33,397.59 FTE annually (pro rata). No sponsorship available for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the running of the shift, delegating and planning activities and responsibilities to staff as appropriate and dealing with any issues and problems as they arise.
  • Share with other staff in meeting the personal care needs of residents in a way that respects the privacy and dignity of the individual and promotes independence.
  • Have a commitment to equal opportunities and to promote the equality of all without reference to among others gender, race ethnicity, religion, sexuality, marital status, age and disability.
  • Administer prescribed medication in accordance with the relevant procedures, individual care plans and risk assessments pertaining to the same.
  • Help in the care of the residents physical environment and in the general day-to-day activities of the home.
  • Be competent in effective communication skills incorporating technical knowledge and interaction with others.
  • Keep people safe from any harm and protecting their human rights.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience as a SSW or a Team Leader.
  • QCF / NVQ level 3 or above in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards or having relevant work experience.
  • A genuine interest in providing the best person‑centred care possible.
  • Willingness to learn and develop.
  • The ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Experience working within the care sector / mental health would be an advantage.
  • Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS.
  • Confidence leading a team.
  • Experience in reviewing and writing care support plans and risk assessments.
  • Sound understanding of Mental Capacity Assessments and DOLs.
  • Competence in completing staff supervisions and appraisals (desirable but not essential).
  • Experience liaising with allied health professionals such as GPs, social workers, district nurses etc.
  • Basic IT skills, as well as good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Experience with Nourish or PCS would be an advantage.
  • Skills in managing a busy work environment and multi‑tasking.
