Support Worker – Ruthin (Driver Essential)

Full Time |14.00 per hour | 8am-6pm

Are you someone who leads with compassion, builds meaningful connections easily, and finds joy in making everyday moments count? If you’re a confident driver looking to commit just one weekday and two Saturdays a month to something truly rewarding, this could be the role you’ve been looking for.

About the Role

We’re on the lookout for a caring, down‑to‑earth Support Worker to assist a sociable and independent client with muscular dystrophy — both at home and out in the community.

Here’s what he says about the kind of support he’s looking for:

“I’m all about getting out and making the most of life — whether that’s catching a gig, flying my drone, enjoying a pint at the pub, or watching the latest blockbuster. I need someone reliable, friendly, and up for joining in. Flexibility is key… especially when the music calls.”

What you’ll be working

  • Weekdays – 8am – 6pm
  • Flexibility to work weekend shifts if needed – 11am – 9pm (this may vary depending on clients weekend plans)

What we’re looking for

  • You’re confident behind the wheel and hold a full UK driving licence, ready to hit the road for spontaneous pub trips, drone adventures, or live concerts.
  • You’ve got hands‑on care experience, and you understand what it means to be there when it matters most.
  • Your nature is gentle, your patience long, and your communication clear—someone who connects with compassion and listens with intent.
  • You’re flexible and reliable, ready to adapt when plans shift, and you carry your sense of humour with you even on the busiest of days.
  • NVQ level 3 or above

What to look forward to

  • £14.00 per hour
  • Full specialist training, shadow shifts, and ongoing support from the Care Manager provided
  • Accrued holiday pay
  • Regular consistent work with rolling rotas
  • Flexible zero hours contract
  • Join the Active Learning Hub and benefit from a wide range of e‑learning and face‑to‑face training and development opportunities
  • A Nest Personal Pension account
  • We recognise outstanding Active Behaviours via the Active Awards programme
  • Refer a Friend Scheme and earn yourself up to £1,500 by recommending someone you know
  • …and, of course, the support and guidance of our qualified clinical and business leadership teams so that you can really develop your career with Active Care Group

We also want to ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable facilities to participate in job applications or interviews to perform essential job functions. To support this, we are a Disability confident employer.
