We are looking to recruit a Support Worker to support our male client who has an acquired brain injury to work in the Whitefield area of Manchester.

About the role:

We are looking for a positive and motivated Support Worker to support our male client who has an acquired brain injury. Our client lives in his own home. He is high functioning, ambulant and enjoys a structured program of activities over 7 days. The client is independent in terms of personal cares but requires support to plan and attend activities, manage his affairs and safety and attend appointments. The client has his own vehicle which is driven by the support team.

What you\’ll be working:

  • Working part time – 27.5hrs per week
  • Salary: £12.60ph week days and £13.13ph weekends
  • Location: Whitefield, Manchester

You will be employed and managed by Northern Case Management on behalf of the client

*Driving Licence and ability to drive is mandatory

What you\’ll be doing:

  • Your role will be to support our client with all activities of daily living, making sure that all his care needs are met. You will promote and maintain his independence, daily structure and therapeutic engagement. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills while delivering support to the individual in their own home and in the community.
  • You will be patient, friendly, have excellent communication skills, be committed to the client and his needs, structured, punctual and outgoing. Previous support worker experience (preferred), however full training will be given to those with the right approach and attitude.
  • The post requires that you work independently to a very great extent. The post therefore necessitates that you work and conduct yourself in a manner that is acceptable to the employer.

What you\’ll have:

  • Experience in care and / or working with people is beneficial
  • A full driving licence is essential
  • The ability to work safely with clients – Applicants must be willing to undergo appropriate screening. This includes checks with past employers and an Enhanced Disclosure via the DBS.
  • The ability to be flexible to cover annual leave and sickness.

*It is a criminal offence for people who are barred from working in regulated activity to apply for roles that require them to work unsupervised with that particular group (i.e. adults at risk, children or both)

NCM work closely with the client and their family or representative to provide tailored support packages for clients in their own homes.
