Join Our Person-Centred Support Team in Oldham empowering individuals to live life their way. Are you a caring, compassionate person looking for a rewarding career where you can make a real difference every day? At Active Care in the Home, we’re proud to be part of one of the UK’s leading providers of complex care – and right now, we’re looking for a dedicated Support Worker to join our client’s well-established support team.

Meet Our Client: “I’m a 33-year-old guy living with a spinal cord injury. I’m really into cars and computers — especially the technical side of things. I love music, movies, and a good conversation, whether that’s a deep chat or a laugh and a bit of banter!” I have an easy-going routine and a fantastic team who know me well — they’ll support you as you settle in. I enjoy getting out for drives, exploring new places with great views, and spending time with my collection of remote-controlled cars. I’m looking for someone reliable, positive, and confident behind the wheel — someone who shares my interests and can help me live life my way.

The Role: As Support Worker, you’ll play a key role in providing high-quality, person-centred care in our client’s own home. Every day is different — from supporting with personal care, medication, and clinical tasks, to joining our client on trips out in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Personal care
  • Medication support
  • Moving and handling
  • Light domestic duties

No previous experience? No problem! We provide full training, shadow shifts, and ongoing support to help you succeed.

Working Hours:

  • Full-time and part-time options available
  • Mix of days (8am–8pm) and wake nights (8pm–8am) with occasional sleep-ins
  • Flexibility is key to supporting the client’s lifestyle

What We’re Looking For:

  • A compassionate, reliable, and proactive individual
  • Confident driver (essential – you’ll be driving the client’s vehicle)
  • Experience in care; spinal cord injury knowledge is a plus but not essential
  • Great communication and teamwork skills
  • Passion for empowering others to live independently

What You’ll Get in Return:

  • Up to ÂŁ12.75 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)
  • NEST pension
  • Ongoing clinical and professional development support
  • Active Awards Programme – recognising and celebrating your success
  • Refer-a-Friend Bonus – earn up to ÂŁ1,500!
  • A supportive, friendly environment where you’re genuinely valued
