At Bethany Lodge, we provide support for young adults with a disability in a residential home, helping to promote independence and maintain a high standard of both physical and mental wellbeing. We’re committed to helping every person we support feel safe, happy, empowered enabling them to live the best life possible.
What you’ll be working:
We’re flexible, so you’ll work a total of 36 hours per week, on a rota basis. The shifts to cover are day & night, our rota is 08.00 to 20.15 and 20.00 to 08.15 over 7 days of the week.
What you’ll be doing:
- This varied role will include carrying out procedures for assessment of residents' needs and ensuring care plans are implemented and monitored, so as to meet their physical and emotional requirements in line with NMC guidelines and current legislation.
- We require our Nurses to be compliant in PEG, Catheter, diabetes management.
- An understanding of physical and learning disabilities, patient deterioration, Epilepsy, or willingness to learn.
- Proficient in documentation and care planning and medication management.
- Working as part of the clinical and non-clinical team, including leading when required, whilst always ensuring high standards of accuracy in all clinical administration and record keeping.
- To be an active participant in the multidisciplinary team, formulating care plans and utilising appropriate assessments.
- To administer medicine within the guidelines and framework of the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
- Ensure all clinical documentation is of a high standard and patient notes are maintained and filed in the appropriate way.
- Working autonomously with confidence and competence to provide a highly specialised and safe service to the patient.
- Maintain and contribute to the standards of professional care, ethics, policies and procedures.
What you’ll have:
- A current NMC Pin registration (RGN).
- A legal right to work in the U.K.
- We require our Nurses to be compliant in PEG, Catheter, diabetes management.
- An understanding of physical and learning disabilities, patient deterioration, Epilepsy, or willingness to learn.
- Proficient in documentation and care planning and medication.
- Working knowledge of manual handling, DOLs and MCA, dysphagia.
- Good organisational and leadership skills.
- Understanding of Care Home procedures and policies.
