Come and join one of the UK’s largest independent providers in neuro and mental healthcare. At Active Care Group, we are passionate about delivering high-quality care and support for people living with neurological conditions, acquired brain injuries, spinal injuries and complex care needs.

We are looking for an experienced and driven Project Manager to support the delivery and mobilisation of multiple service development projects across our portfolio. This is a career-defining opportunity to play a leading role in the creation of one of the most significant specialist healthcare developments within our portfolio. This unique opportunity will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of specialist healthcare services.

You will lead the delivery of significant capital projects, including the development and mobilisation of a new facility that will have a lasting impact on the lives of patients, families and clinical teams. This is more than a project management role – it is an opportunity to be part of a landmark programme of investment and growth, helping to create purpose-built environments that will support exceptional care for years to come.

Working closely with internal stakeholders, contractors, suppliers and operational teams, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and in line with regulatory requirements. For the right individual, this represents a rare opportunity to contribute to a major healthcare development programme and leave a lasting legacy within one of the UK's leading specialist care providers.

This is a highly visible, hands-on role that requires regular site attendance, typically four days per week, with flexibility to increase in line with project demands.

What you’ll be working:

  • Location: Buckinghamshire / Midlands based with national travel required
  • Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week
  • Contract: Fixed Term Contract – 18 months (with potential for review thereafter)
  • Travel: Extensive national travel and regular site presence required

Whilst candidates based in Buckinghamshire or the surrounding region will be well placed for the role, we welcome applications from individuals across the UK who can commit to the significant on-site presence required to successfully deliver this project, national travel to additional locations will be expected as projects develop and expand.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing end-to-end project delivery for healthcare service build and mobilisation projects
  • Coordinating contractors, suppliers, consultants and external stakeholders throughout project lifecycles
  • Developing and managing project plans, timelines, risks and deliverables
  • Monitoring project progress and ensuring milestones are achieved on time and within budget
  • Holding stakeholders accountable for agreed actions and delivery deadlines
  • Supporting the set-up and mobilisation of new healthcare services and environments
  • Ensuring projects comply with healthcare regulations, health and safety standards and operational requirements
  • Working collaboratively with operational, clinical, estates and support functions across the business
  • Leading project meetings, site visits and progress reviews
  • Escalating risks, delays or issues appropriately while driving solutions-focused outcomes
  • Supporting procurement, commissioning and operational readiness activities
  • Maintaining accurate project documentation, reporting and governance processes
  • Ensuring a smooth transition from build completion into operational service delivery

What we would like from you:

  • Proven experience delivering major build, refurbishment, mobilisation or commissioning projects, ideally within hospital, healthcare, clinical or other regulated care settings.
  • Experience leading large-scale capital developments from construction through to operational handover and service mobilisation.
  • Demonstrable experience managing complex projects involving contractors, consultants, suppliers and multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Experience working on multi-million-pound projects with responsibility for programme delivery, risk management, budgets and timelines.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, compliance requirements and operational standards within care environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver projects within challenging timescales.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt within a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience chairing meetings and producing project reporting/documentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
  • PRINCE2, APM or equivalent Project Management qualification desirable.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel nationally on a regular basis.

If you are an experienced Project Manager looking for an opportunity to lead meaningful healthcare development projects and make a real impact across specialist services, we would love to hear from you.

We also want to ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable facilities to participate in job applications or interviews to perform essential job functions. To support this, we are a Disability Confident committed employer.
