At Blackheath Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre, we’re looking for a dynamic Lead Occupational Therapist to shape exceptional care, drive clinical innovation, and lead a team dedicated to transforming lives after brain injury. What you’ll be working:
- Our standard working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. However, we understand the importance of a positive work-life balance, and therefore, if you require some flexibility to better suit your personal or professional needs, we encourage you to discuss this with us, and we will do our best to accommodate your preferences where possible.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead and manage the Occupational Therapy team, ensuring effective delivery of the highly specialist Occupational Therapy service.
- Work as an autonomous practitioner to plan and prioritise a complex clinical caseload.
- Work closely with patients and their family/carers to encourage participation in the therapeutic process.
- Provide supervision, teaching, and appraisal for junior occupational therapists, assistants, students and other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
- Contribute to the planning, development, and evaluation of the Occupational Therapy service.
- Develop Occupational Therapy treatment programmes in collaboration with patients, carers and other involved professionals (e.g. occupational therapy assistants, support workers) to be carried out as appropriate.
- Participate in clinical audit, clinical risk and quality issues, including the management and reporting of incidents.
- Ensure a high level of communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in the process of positively supporting and inspiring colleagues within the service to improve standards and quality and to develop professional practice.
- Keep people safe from harm and protect their human rights.
What you’ll have:
- HCPC registration.
- Extensive experience in neurological rehabilitation or related fields.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- A passion for innovation and a commitment to achieving outstanding patient outcomes.
- Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS.
