Join Active Care Group’s Care in Powys. Active Care Group’s Care in the Home Wales division is growing! We’re passionate about delivering safe, reliable, and outcome-focused care, thanks to our exceptional team of support workers, clinicians, and leaders. What you'll be doing:
Imagine this: you wake up knowing today won’t just be a “tick-the-box” kind of day. Instead, you’ll be helping someone live life to the fullest—from MMA Mondays to countryside dog walks and midweek Welsh adventures. You’ll be working closely with one amazing individual—a man who’s overcome a stroke and lives with visual impairment—yet still brings three dogs, bundles of energy, and a zest for every single day. In this role, you’ll support one individual with complex needs, working regular weekly shifts to build a consistent, trusted care team. While hours are usually stable, the position is offered on a zero-hours contract.
A Day in the life might include:
- Cheering ringside at Monday MMA
- Exploring hidden Welsh gems midweek
- Fetching tennis balls (okay, the dogs do that—but you get the idea)
- Spontaneous plans on the weekend—expect the unexpected!
A valid driving licence is a must—our client loves the open road and doesn’t like being stuck indoors.
About You:
For our client you need to be someone who:
- Sees the person before the paperwork
- Believes caring is a superpower, not just a skill
- Brings joy, resilience, and a good sense of humour to the mix
- Feels at home both in meaningful conversations and muddy boots
If you’re ready to make a real difference in someone’s life—and have a few laughs along the way we’d love to meet you.
What we can offer you:
- Up to £14 per hour dependant on NVQ qualification
- A paid DBS check
- Top-tier training from our Learning Hub and Clinical Nurses
- Consistent work with regular, rolling rotas, with someone who’ll always be happy to see you - 11am – 5pm 7 days a week
- Holiday pay, a Nest pension, and plenty of career support
- Active Awards programme to celebrate outstanding care
- Refer a friend and earn up to £1,500
