Our Care in the Home business is growing across Horncastle! We have exciting plans for our Care in the Home business across Horncastle and we would like to hear from experienced, highly motivated, and proactive Support Workers to support clients in their homes across Horncastle. This is a zero hour contract with regular shifts once assigned to a client to enable continuity of care.
You will attend our sector leading 2 week induction which will include staying away from home for 5 days, we will cover the cost of travel and accommodation. During this time you will have both face to face training with our clinicians and complete online courses.
Our care in the home services support children, young people and adults with a wide range of conditions, including: brain injury, spinal cord injury, neurological conditions and neurodegenerative diseases, respiratory conditions and gastro-intestinal conditions, including percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) feeding. We don’t just look after the clinical needs of the people we support. We look after the whole person, we pride ourselves on the fact our care extends beyond the individual to their wider family and friends, as we understand the wider impact complex conditions can have.
What you will be working:
- Regular day Shifts – to ensure continuity of care
- Various positions both Full Time and Part Time hours
What you will be doing:
- Assist the client to exercise choice and control over their own lives as far as they are able in everyday matters as much as possible
- Liaise with and support the family as required
- Assist the client to ensure an adequate level of hygiene is maintained (including washing, dressing and toileting)
- Supporting the client to use local amenities such as shops and leisure facilities and attend community events
- Follow the service user plan as documented for the client
- Maintain accurate and confidential records
- Participate in manual handling procedures as specified for the client
- Maintain professional boundaries with the client and their family members, adhering to direction from the care manager as appropriate
What you will have:
- A genuine interest in providing the best person-centred care possible
- Previous experience of working with individuals with a spinal injury is desirable but not essential as full training will be given
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn and develop
- Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS
