Make a Real Difference Every Day

Are you a compassionate, curious, and caring individual looking to develop your skills in complex care? Do you enjoy building meaningful relationships and helping someone live life to the fullest? Welcome to Active Care Group—one of the UK’s largest and most trusted providers of complex care. We’re building a brand-new team of passionate Support Workers to support our incredible client in his family home in the charming village of Mere, Wiltshire.

Meet the Client

Our client is an 80-year-old RAF veteran and former engineer, businessman, and teacher who is making excellent progress in his rehabilitation following a respiratory and cardiac arrest and stroke nearly three years ago. He requires a tracheostomy and enteral feeding tube to support his ongoing health needs. Despite these challenges, he leads an active and fulfilling life. He enjoys attending model railway events, working on projects in his dedicated hobby room, going to the gym two to three times a week, and following football. You will be supporting a warm, friendly gentleman with a great sense of humour who lives with his wife in a welcoming family home. This is an opportunity to provide meaningful support, companionship, and encouragement, helping him continue to enjoy the activities that bring him purpose and enjoyment.

Shifts Available

  • Days 8am – 8:30pm (up to 4 day shifts a week available)
  • Waking Nights (8:30pm – 8am, 2 nights available)

You'll work with one individual, allowing you to build a consistent and trusted relationship while becoming part of a dedicated care team. Although hours are generally regular and consistent, the position is offered on a zero‑hours contract. Please note: Due to the rural location of the client's home, a driving licence and access to transport are required. We are happy to discuss travel arrangements with candidates travelling from further afield.

What You'll Be Doing

This is more than a care role. You'll support our client both at home and in the community, helping him maintain his independence and quality of life while managing complex respiratory care needs. You’ll receive specialist training from the highly regarded Lane Fox Remeo Unit, alongside ongoing clinical support and guidance from our Clinical Nurse Manager, ensuring you feel confident and fully supported in your role.

Perks & Benefits

We believe in looking after our staff as well as our clients. When you join us, you’ll receive:

  • Competitive pay: up to £15.50 based on experience
  • Paid DBS check and full induction training
  • A consistent and reliable work schedule
  • Holiday pay and Nest pension
  • Access to our Active Awards recognition programme
  • Refer-a-Friend scheme – earn up to £1,000
