We have an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader to join our friendly and experienced team at our Whalley Road service. We are close to local amenities and have multiple transport links on our doorstep. Whalley Road is a specialist residential home providing nursing care, support and rehabilitation to adults with a mental illness or learning disability. Our team is committed to supporting our residents to be independent, confident and resilient.

What you'll be working:

  • One supernumerary shift per week
  • Days with night shifts when required
  • 08.00-20.30 days, 20.00-08.30 nights
  • 37.5 Hours
  • Monday - Sunday
  • Alternate Weekends

What you'll be doing:

  • Build relationships with the people we support, which are open and two way
  • Support to undertake their rehabilitation programme
  • Establish methods of communication with the people we support, reducing barriers when necessary
  • Support with activities of daily living and personal care when needed
  • Communicate any issues to the clinical team
  • Accurately report and/or record work activities
  • To be part of the on call team
  • Complete Supervisions of Support Workers

What you'll have:

  • Strong organisational, time management, planning and communication skills.
  • Flexible, professional, and positive approach.
  • Level 3 NVQ or QCF Diploma in Health & Social Care or be willing to work towards.
  • Sound working knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS)
  • Proven reliability in terms of full attendance and timekeeping.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and as an individual.
  • Self-confidence and ability to manage challenging situations
  • Ability to address and respond to employee issues in a fair and consistent manner.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS.
