We'd like you to join us as a Support Worker at our service Murdostoun In Newmains, Wishaw.

We have an exciting opportunity for Support Workers to join our friendly and experienced specialist brain injury and neurological care service in Newmains, Wishaw.

We provide individualised assessment and intensive rehabilitation to help people recover from a brain injury. At all times we work to achieve the best possible outcomes in terms of independence and quality of life.

Murdostoun Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre provides specialist care for up to 46 residents at any one time.

We have a minibus for appointments and some fun outings and a state-of-the-art therapy pool, which allows our residents to focus on re-gaining cognitive abilities that may have been lost. A specially designed therapy kitchen allows users to learn new skills that will serve them long after they have left our care. We also have a gymnasium where all residents are encouraged to keep themselves active and socialise with others.

We are extremely proud to be accredited as an approved provider of specialist Brain Injury Care by the Headway Brain Injury Association.

What you'll be working:

Full time and part-time hours

Rotational- Dayshift 7.30am 8.00pm / Nightshift 7.30pm 8.00am

Both day and night shifts

Permanent night shifts available

What you'll be doing:

  • Build relationships with patients, which are open and two way
  • Support patients to undertake their rehabilitation programme
  • Establish methods of communication with patients, reducing barriers when necessary
  • Assist patients with mealtimes where necessary
  • Support with activities of daily living and personal care when needed
  • Communicate any issues to the clinical team
  • Accurately report and/or record work activities

What you'll have:

  • A genuine interest in providing the best person centre care possible for our young people
  • The ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Experience working within the care sector / mental health would be an advantage but not essential
  • Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS
