As a Facilities & Maintenance Officer, you will act as a hands-on handyperson carrying out a wide range of day-to-day compliance and maintenance tasks across the campus. Duties include unlocking and securing buildings, general repairs, painting and decorating, setting up rooms for events, moving furniture, and health and safety and compliance checks. You will also monitor site security, respond to helpdesk requests, maintain external areas, and oversee waste and recycling processes.
This is a varied, practical role, ideal for a reliable and proactive individual who enjoys hands-on trade related work and problem-solving in a facilities or handyperson environment. A flexible, practical attitude and willingness to develop through training are essential.
This could be a great role for someone with trades or handyperson experience who wants to develop their experience in maintenance, or an experienced property and environment or estates professional who wants to join a growing team.
Essential skills and experience include:
- Practical experience in general maintenance, compliance tasks, and associated requirements.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety procedures and relevant legislation, including Safeguarding and the Equality Act 2010.
