About the role: SEND Job Coach

We are seeking an enthusiastic Job Coach to join our supportive team at Oxford College. In this role, you will provide tailored support to young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) enrolled in our Employability Programmes, within the Learners with Learning Difficulties or Disabilities (LLDD) department.

As a Job Coach, you\\\’ll play a vital role in helping students of all abilities develop key employability skills through active participation in our Learning Companies. Working closely with the Learning Company Coordinator, you\\\’ll ensure the smooth daily operation of these work-based learning environments. Flexibility is key, as you may be required to support across multiple Learning Companies based on need.

In addition to delivering practical coaching, you will monitor student progress, assess performance, and guide learners in achieving their individual goals and learning outcomes.

This is a fixed term maternity cover position working part-time (17 hours per week), on a term-time basis (FTE 0.40). The working days would be Monday and Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Wednesday afternoon from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • Extensive experience working with young people with SEND in educational or training settings.
  • The ability to break down tasks and provide clear, structured instructions to support learner understanding.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive, collaborative relationships with students, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Experience in a Further Education (FE) environment is desirable, though not essential.
