About The Role
Are you passionate about supporting learners to explore opportunities and begin planning for their next steps in education, apprenticeships and employment? Activate Learning has an exciting opportunity for a level 6 qualified Careers Adviser to join our Careers team.
Day To Day You Could Be:
- Providing 1:1 impartial guidance meetings to help learners explore their career ideas and create personalised action plans.
- Delivering career related workshops covering topics such as UCAS, options and career planning across all levels of our Post 16 and adult programmes.
- Working with faculty colleagues to support learners in developing essential career management skills.
- Organising a careers fair or engaging with universities to provide opportunities for our learners to find out about the world of work and higher education.
This is a permanent, full-time role working 37 hours per week during term-time based at our Guildford College.
What do you need to be successful as a Careers Adviser at Activate Learning?
We are looking for a qualified careers guidance professional with excellent communication, organisational and networking skills. You must have a L6 qualification in Careers Guidance, and experience of delivering both interactive workshops and 1-1 guidance meetings with SMART action plans. You will have knowledge of qualification types and pathways and an understanding of the Gatsby benchmarks and the CDI framework. You will also have the ability to build effective relationships with students, staff, employers, and other external partners to assist our delivery of a varied careers education programme. This is a fast-paced position, so excellent time management, flexibility, and the ability to prioritise effectively are a must.
