About the role as an Electrical Assessor:

As a qualified Electrical Assessor, you will play a key role in supporting our apprentices by visiting them in their workplace to assess their progress toward completing their Apprenticeship Standard. This includes reviewing practical skills, evaluating theoretical knowledge, and ensuring they are on track to meet the expectations of both their qualification and their employer.

Your role will involve working closely with both Electrical apprentices and their employers to provide clear, constructive feedback, ensuring that each apprentice not only meets their learning outcomes but also makes a meaningful impact within their organisation. A strong commitment to the development of young people and the ability to build productive partnerships with employers is essential

Key Electrical Assessor Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular workplace and on-campus assessments to monitor electrical apprentices’ progress against their Apprenticeship Standard.
  • Deliver clear, structured feedback on both practical skills and theoretical knowledge to support learners’ development.
  • Build strong working relationships with employers to support apprentices in making a meaningful contribution to their organisation.

This is a full-time, permanent position covering Bracknell and the surrounding areas. We offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid and remote options.

What do you need to be a successful Electrical Assessor at Activate Learning?

To succeed as an Electrical Assessor at Activate Learning, you’ll need a strong foundation in Electrical Installation, practical industry experience, and a passion for developing Electrical apprentices. You should be confident in assessing Electrical apprentices both on-site and in college settings, with the ability to build supportive relationships and adapt to modern learning technologies.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Hold a full Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation, with a minimum of 5 years’ industry experience, and a recognised assessing qualification (D32, D33, A1, TAQA, or CAVA).
  • Strong mentoring, organisational, and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and engage apprentices.
  • Confident in using digital learning tools and e-portfolios, with knowledge of ESFA funding requirements (desirable).
