About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and hard‑working Learning Support Assistant to join our ASC Centre team at Reading College. The successful applicant will support students with Autism and other associated difficulties on courses ranging from Foundation Level 1 to Level 3. Your responsibilities will include facilitating individual learning programmes, providing support in small groups and one‑to‑one activities, collaborating with ASC Coordinators on lesson planning, and helping learners access their course within the mainstream learning environment and off‑site activities.
Personal care may be part of the duties and training will be provided.
This role is part‑time (21 hours per week covering Monday, Tuesday and Friday) on a permanent contract based at Reading College. Our centre opening hours are 8.30 am – 4.30 pm.
What you need to be a successful Learning Support Assistant at Activate Learning
This challenging role requires resilience, motivation, initiative and patience. You will be able to provide support to students with Autism and associated difficulties and possess good communication skills to work with tutors and coordinate with the ASC team. A qualification in Autism or other associated difficulties is not essential, but a willingness to learn about Autism and related challenges is essential.
