Activate Learning is recruiting a caring and motivated Job Coach to join our specialist team based at our brand new Vocational and Lifeskills Hub for Post-16 learners with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities in Wokingham. You will be supporting young people aged 16-25 with complex needs to re-engage in education through personalised, therapeutic, and vocational pathways.
As a Job Coach, you’ll play a vital role in helping students of all abilities develop key employability skills through active participation across the Hub. Working closely with teams, you’ll ensure the smooth daily operation of these work-based learning environments. In addition to delivering practical coaching and guidance, you will monitor student progress, assess performance, and mentor learners in achieving their individual goals and learning outcomes.
This is a part-time role working 28 hours per week, fixed term until July 2027 based at our new Wokingham Hub.
What do you need to be a successful Job Coach at Activate Learning?
This could be the perfect role for someone with experience in a coaching or mentoring role, or as a teaching assistant or learning support assistant. We're looking for someone with a passion for helping our learners develop the skills they'll go on to use in the rest of their careers and lives. To thrive in this role, you will have:
- Significant experience of working with young people with SEND
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive, collaborative relationships with students, colleagues and external partners
- Experience in a Further Education (FE) environment is desirable, though not essential
