About the role: Printmaking Learning for Leisure Tutor

Activate Learning is currently looking for an experienced Printmaker to join our Learning for Leisure team based at Reading College. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for creative arts to share their expertise with a diverse range of learners, including both adults and young people. Whether you are an experienced tutor or a practicing artist confident in delivering practical workshops, this role allows you to inspire others and act as a creative role model.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience across a range of traditional and contemporary printmaking techniques, including:

  • Screen printing
  • Etching
  • Relief printing (e.g. lino, woodcut)
  • Monoprinting

You will deliver a variety of short courses (evenings and Saturdays) beginning September 2026 within our well-equipped facilities at Reading College.

Qualifications and experience

Ideally, you will hold a teacher’s qualification or have experience of teaching within an education setting, such as Adult Learning, Accredited courses, Schools, Youth Clubs etc. You will have extensive knowledge of the subject area and can engage and interact with students to ensure they are set up to succeed in their end goals. Your communication and interpersonal skills will be outstanding and support your ability to deliver interesting, fun and purposeful lessons to adults. You'll need to have a flexible mindset to connect with the communities you're teaching.

You will be joining an established and supportive team within our Learning for Leisure provision on a casual contract basis and our positions offer a variety of flexible working patterns such as daytime, evenings, weekends depending on scheduled timetable.
