About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Film & Screen Tutor to lead our National Film & Screen Saturday Club at Reading College. This nationally recognised programme provides young people aged 13-16 with a unique opportunity to explore the world of film, media and screen industries through inspiring, hands‑on creative experiences.
Starting in November 2026, you will deliver weekly sessions that encourage creativity, technical skill development and confidence in filmmaking and media production. Learners will explore a range of areas such as storytelling, scriptwriting, cinematography, editing, sound, digital content creation and collaborative film projects, while gaining insight into careers within the creative industries.
The role also includes supporting learners beyond the classroom, including accompanying the group on a trip to London for the National Saturday Club Summer Show at Somerset House, as well as contributing to masterclasses and collaborative projects throughout the programme.
This is a casual position, with the club running for 3 hours per week (10.00am-1.00pm) on Saturdays over 15 weeks.
What do you need to be successful as a Film & Screen Saturday Club Tutor at Activate Learning?

- Confidence in delivering engaging, hands‑on sessions for young people aged 13-16.
- Experience of filmmaking techniques, including areas such as story development, filming, editing, sound, or digital media production.
- The ability to design creative and inspiring projects that encourage experimentation, collaboration and self‑expression.
- The ability to manage, motivate and inspire groups of learners.
- A flexible, organised and proactive approach to teaching and preparation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine passion for supporting young people to develop their creative potential.
You will act as a positive role model, embodying the values and behaviours we strive to instil in our learners, while inspiring the next generation of filmmakers, content creators and media professionals. Additional opportunities to deliver further courses within our Learning for Leisure programme may also be available.
Together, we will bring out the best version of yourself.
