About the role: Vocational Trainer in Esports
We are looking for a passionate and technically skilled Vocational Trainer to join our CreaTech Faculty at Reading College, supporting the delivery of our Esports programmes.
Working alongside curriculum and technical colleagues, you will support students to develop the practical skills, knowledge and professional behaviours needed to succeed within the Esports industry.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering learner-facing practical sessions and workshops.
- Supporting students with technical skills development and project-based learning.
- Demonstrating the safe use of Esports equipment, software and technologies.
- Maintaining and troubleshooting gaming PCs, consoles and associated equipment.
- Supporting Esports competitions, tournaments and live-streamed events.
- Promoting a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an industry professional, technician or aspiring educator looking to inspire the next generation of Esports talent.
This is a fixed-term, part-time role working 23 hours per week during term time (0.53 FTE) based at Reading College. The contract will run until July 2027.
What do you need to be successful as a Vocational Trainer in Esports with Activate Learning?
You will have a Level 3 qualification or above, or equivalent industry experience, within Esports, gaming, digital technology or a related field.
Experience working with gaming PCs, consoles and digital technologies is essential, along with the ability to provide technical support and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
You will also have experience using Adobe Creative Cloud, including Premiere Pro and Photoshop. Experience with OBS Studio, streaming or broadcast technologies, content creation, networking, PC hardware maintenance or 3D modelling software would be highly desirable.
Most importantly, you'll be passionate about supporting learners, developing their confidence and helping them achieve their potential.
