About the role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring Vocational Trainer in Motor Vehicle to join our Construction and Engineering Faculty, based at The Leys College. As a Vocational Trainer, you will play a vital role in guiding students as they develop a wide range of practical skills within Motor Mechanics. You will also be responsible for maintaining safe and inspiring learning environments including workshop responsibilities, and supporting students as they develop their practical skills. You will work closely with teaching staff to plan workshop sessions, contribute to the design of learning, and provide students with constructive feedback to help them progress. This is a full‑time, permanent position based at The Leys College.

What do you need to be a successful Vocational Trainer in Motor Vehicle?

  • Level 3 or above qualification in Motor Vehicle or Mechanical Engineering
  • Industry experience
  • Educated to GCSE Level 4/C or equivalent
  • Previous teaching experience is an advantage, this is not essential as full support and training will be given.
  • Assessor qualification would be desirable but not essential

In addition, you will need to have a flexible approach, coupled with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. You will demonstrate the ability to engage and develop students and role model the attributes that we develop within our learners.
