We are looking for a dedicated and hard-working Learning Support Assistants to join our ASC Centre team at Oxford college.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate individual learning programmes, provide support to learners in small groups and 1-1 activities when attending the ASC Centres.
- Facilitate students' learning using provided resources and lesson plans in a creative and purposeful way, making adaptations for learners to access their lessons to support progression. This will be in collaboration with the ASC Group Teachers to meet the needs of the learners.
- Support learners to access learning on their course within the mainstream learning environment and off-site activities.
- Personal care may form part of the duties where appropriate.
This is a part-time contract, working 28 hours per week (Tuesday to Friday, shift pattern 9am - 5pm / 09:30am - 5pm).
Qualifications
- Resilience, motivation, initiative and patience.
- You will be able to provide support to students with Autism and associated difficulties and have good communication skills to work with tutors to ensure the delivery of an effective programme of further education and to work as part of a co-ordination team.
- A qualification in Autism or other associated difficulties is not essential but a willingness to learn about Autism and the other difficulties a young person may experience is essential.
- DBS check at the appropriate level will be required for successful applicants.
