Activate Learning is seeking an experienced industry professional to support the delivery of Landscape programmes on a casual basis within our Landbased provision.

The role will primarily focus on the delivery of technical hard landscaping and construction skills, including bricklaying, paving, slab laying, fencing, groundwork and related activities within the landscaping sector. Alongside practical delivery, you may also support learners in developing the underpinning theory, technical knowledge and industry best practice that support these skills.

Working alongside our teaching and technical teams, you will help deliver engaging, industry-relevant learning experiences that prepare students for progression into the landscaping, construction and wider built environment industries.

This flexible, casual role would suit an experienced hard landscaper, construction professional, bricklayer or other skilled tradesperson looking to share their expertise with the next generation.

As this is a casual position, there are no fixed timetabled hours. Hours will be offered, depending on learner numbers, programme requirements and courses running throughout the year.

What do you need to be successful as a Landscaping Teacher at Activate Learning?

Successful candidates will have an appropriate professional qualification and/or significant industry experience. Whilst we would prefer applications from qualified teachers who hold a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification, we would consider applications from unqualified applicants, with the ability to inspire our learners and a willingness to complete a teaching qualification. Unqualified candidates would start at a lower salary point and this could be discussed at interview, if successfully shortlisted.

In addition, you will need to have a flexible approach, coupled with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. You will demonstrate the ability to engage and develop students and role model the attributes that we develop within our learners.
