We’re looking to recruit a new History Teacher to join our Academic Studies Faculty at Guildford College to teach A-level History! Students on our A-Level History courses are looking for an inspirational and engaging teacher, with a clear passion for the subject matter, to help to develop their understanding and knowledge.

Additionally, you will contribute to the development of the curriculum and resources for History, participate in departmental meetings, parent evenings, and school events, and support extracurricular activities or clubs related to the subject area. This role would suit either an experienced teacher or a new graduate with subject knowledge, looking to progress into the teaching profession. This is a permanent, part-time role working 17 hours per week (0.46 FTE) based at our Guildford College.

What do you need to be successful as a History Teacher at Activate Learning? We are looking for people who can act as role models for our students and ensure that they leave us with not just their professional qualifications, but the attributes required to progress in the world of work. A genuine interest in working with and developing young people is a requirement. Whilst previous teaching experience or qualification would be an advantage, it is not a requirement. As long as you have the qualifications or experience to teach on our A-Level History courses and demonstrate the attributes to be an inspirational teacher, we can provide you with the necessary training, development and support to equip you to teach in the FE sector.

Your communication and interpersonal skills will be outstanding and support your ability to deliver interesting and purposeful lessons to a diverse range of learners. You will also have strong organisation skills coupled with the ability to prioritise workloads and will benefit from being part of a supportive team, working in a varied and interesting role with a variety of opportunities for career development.
