Activate Learning are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and inspiring Early Years Assessor at Guildford College to visit and assess our CACHE Early Years students whilst on their placements. This post provides an excellent opportunity for an early years/childcare trainer and assessor with passion and drive for education and who is committed to enabling our students to unlock their potential and switch on to the power of learning.

Our Lifestyles department has an excellent record of delivering vocational Early Years/Childcare courses with employability embedded at their heart. This is achieved through excellent relationships with industry and the employment of experts with extensive professional experience within the teaching team. We deliver well‑established and highly successful professionally accredited courses in Early Years.

This is a permanent, part‑time position working 17.5 hours per week during term‑time (0.4 FTE) at our Guildford College campus. As this role is part‑time and term‑time only the salary pro‑rata to 0.4 FTE is £14,985-£16,860. The arrangement of these hours is flexible depending on timetabling. We hope to have the post‑holder in place in August ready for the new academic year in September.

What do you need to be a successful Early Years Assessor at Activate Learning?

  • A genuine interest in working with and developing young people is a requirement.
  • Successful candidates will have an assessor's qualification, appropriate level 5 professional qualification and/or a degree and management qualification.
  • In order to assess competence‑based units, the successful candidate will be occupationally competent, and be able to demonstrate relevant experience in the early years sector.
  • This competence should be demonstrable through relevant assessor qualifications and experience.
  • To carry out assessments at external sites you must be willing to travel and have access to reliable transport.
