About the role
Activate Learning is looking for a Business and Citizenship Teacher to join our Academic Studies teaching team. This is a permanent, part‑time role working 19.4 hours per week (0.52 FTE) at our Farnham College campus.
Responsibilities and Scope
With your excellent subject knowledge and practical skills, you will work collaboratively with our existing team to plan and deliver purposeful practical and theory lessons on our A‑Level courses. You will contribute to curriculum development that meets the needs of changing industry demands. You will act as a role model for our students and support them in attaining both professional qualifications and the attributes required to progress in the world of work.
Qualifications and Experience
We are looking for people who have a genuine interest in working with and developing young people. While previous teaching experience or a qualification would be an advantage, it is not a requirement. As long as you have the qualifications or experience to teach on our Business courses and demonstrate inspirational teaching attributes, we can provide training and development support.
- Experience of working in any business‑related sector
- Educated to a degree level
Your communication and interpersonal skills should be outstanding, supporting the delivery of interesting and purposeful lessons to a diverse range of learners. You should also have strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads.

Training and Support
We provide a comprehensive, mandatory, three‑day induction programme for all new staff. An additional one‑day Introduction to Teaching session covers our teaching, learning, and assessment approaches.
