We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering / Mechatronics Teacher to join our Construction and Engineering Faculty at Reading College. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across Levels 1, 2 and 3 Electrical Engineering and Mechatronics programmes. Our faculty has an excellent track record of delivering vocational programmes with employability at their core.

As an Electrical Engineering / Mechatronics Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and effective teaching across Levels 1-3 programmes
  • Plan and assess learning in line with awarding body and college requirements
  • Support learners to develop both technical competence and workplace behaviours
  • Act as a positive role model, inspiring learners to achieve their full potential
  • Contribute to the continued development of the Engineering curriculum

What do you need to be a successful Electrical Engineering / Mechatronics Teacher at Activate Learning?

  • A genuine interest in working with young people and supporting their progression into employment or further study is essential.
  • Knowledge of PLCs and microcontrollers would be highly desirable, along with a strong understanding of their application within modern engineering and automation systems.
  • A Level 3 or higher qualification in Electrical Engineering and/or Mechatronics
  • Relevant industry experience within Electrical Engineering and/or Mechatronics
  • GCSEs at Grade 4/C or equivalent in Maths and English
  • Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to engage, motivate and support learners with differing needs
  • Teaching qualification and/or previous teaching experience (Desirable)
