Activate Learning has an exciting opportunity available for a passionate and creative Digital Teacher to join our teaching team based at Bracknell College. You will have a genuine passion for IT with the ability to teach the next generation of programmers and developers and make a positive impact on the lives of young people. You will be responsible for teaching T-level Digital Data Analytics.

The post holder will be required to have a range of abilities within ICT and Digital Technologies, including programming, GDPR and other legislation, digital environments, the fundamentals of cyber-security, and design. You will also act as a personal tutor and study programme owner, providing pastoral and academic support to our students. You will work collaboratively with our existing team of talented and passionate teachers to ensure we plan and deliver purposeful practical and theory lessons.

Our students are eager to learn, and we want to appoint someone who can provide them with a high level of knowledge and skills that they can utilise in their careers or progression to university. This is a fixed-term, part-time role, working 14.8 hours a week (0.40 FTE) based at our Bracknell College. This contract ends in July 2027.

What do you need to be successful as a Digital Teacher at Activate Learning?

  • You will be responsible for providing exceptional mentoring and pastoral support to our students throughout the duration of their course.
  • You will have the ability to plan and deliver high quality and engaging lessons to a diverse group of learners and to carry out initial and ongoing assessments to ensure the students are on track with their learning goals and achieving excellent results.
  • It is essential if you have a teaching qualification and have worked within education as a teacher.
  • You will have worked in the industry and are an IT specialist.
  • You will have a passion for using this experience to develop the skills of the future generation.
  • A working knowledge of T Levels would be an advantage.
  • Preferably have a range of programming knowledge for example, Python, HTML, JavaScript, PHP and SQL.
  • In addition, you will need to have a flexible approach, coupled with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • You will demonstrate the ability to engage and develop students and role model the attributes that we develop within our learners.
