Activate Learning is looking for a proactive and highly organised Examinations Officer to join our team at Bracknell & Wokingham College. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting student outcomes by managing all aspects of the examinations process.
As an Examinations Officer, you’ll be responsible for coordinating and delivering exam sessions in line with JCQ (Joint Council for Qualifications) regulations. You’ll work closely with various internal teams—including faculty staff, learning support, and the data team—to ensure examinations run smoothly and efficiently across the group. In addition, you will support the recruitment, training, and coordination of invigilators to ensure exams are conducted professionally and fairly.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and manage all aspects of exam sessions, ensuring full compliance with JCQ regulations
- Work collaboratively with academic and support staff to ensure seamless exam delivery
- Manage examination entries, assessments, and results processing for learners
- Train and supervise a team of invigilators, ensuring readiness for examination periods
- Maintain accurate records and use internal systems to manage exam-related data
This is a permanent, full-time role working 37 hours per week based at our Bracknell & Wokingham College. The successful candidate is expected to start in the week commencing 3rd August.
What you need to be successful- We are seeking someone with a strong customer focus, who is well-organised and thrives in a collaborative environment.
- You should be confident in handling procedures and systems, and comfortable communicating with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Qualified to Level 2 standard or higher in English and Maths
- Excellent organisational and teamwork skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proven experience using large databases
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Desirable: Previous experience working in an examinations office
