We are looking for a dedicated and hard-working Learning Support Assistant to join our ASC Centre team at Reading college. The successful applicant will be supporting students with Autism and other associated difficulties on courses which are designed for those with Autism and associated difficulties or supporting students to access their course. These courses are from Foundation Level 1 courses to Level 3 courses.

There will be an expectation to support in all areas. You will be responsible for facilitating individual learning programmes, providing support to our learners in small groups and 1-1 activities when attending the ASC Centres. You will be required to facilitate the students' learning using creative and purposeful lesson planning in collaboration with the ASC Coordinators to meet the needs of the learners. You may also be required to support learners to access learning on their course within the mainstream learning environment and off-site activities. Personal care can form part of the duties included in this role and training will be provided.

This role is Full time (35 hours per week) permanent contract based at Reading college. Our centre opening hours are between 8.30am - 4.30pm.

What do you need to be a successful Learning Support Assistant at Activate Learning? This is a challenging role that requires resilience, motivation, initiative and patience. You will be able to provide support to students with Autism and associated difficulties. You will have good communication skills to be able to work with tutors to ensure the delivery of an effective programme of further education and to work as part of a co-ordination team. A qualification in Autism or other associated difficulties is not essential but a willingness to learn about Autism and the other difficulties a young person may experience is essential.
