About the role

At Activate Group we’re passionate about developing people and offer a broad range of apprenticeship programmes across a variety of skills and disciplines. We’re hiring an apprentice Panel Beater to support our Technician Team based in AAR Nottingham, and will be working in partnership with a leading training provider to deliver a great apprenticeship programme that will be the perfect stepping stone for your future career. We’ve designed our programme to be entered at any stage of your post‑16 education and will give you all the support you need to really succeed. You will learn through virtual classes and 121’s with our training provider, as well as self‑directed learning and on‑the‑job training. You will spend 20% of your working hours studying towards your qualification and will be supported throughout by a designated tutor at the training provider, your People Manager and a member of our People Team.

What does a Body Shop Technician do?

Our body shop technicians are skilled in their trade, using their expertise to repair damaged vehicles back to factory standards and return them to the customer like new.

Who are we looking for?

You’ll be passionate about cars and all sorts of vehicles, and keen to get started with your career. Perhaps you’ve decided that university or college isn’t the route for you, and you would prefer to earn while you learn a skill. You won’t need any specific academic qualifications and we will provide all the training required both on the job and at college. You’ll just need to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in!

We are Activate Group’s own network of body shops and we’re rapidly growing, which means that there will be opportunities throughout your apprenticeship and beyond – it’s the perfect time to join our team. You will be supported every step of your journey and will work with a designated mentor throughout your time on the programme. You will regularly visit college with your cohort of fellow apprentices to receive training on each element of your qualification, which may involve overnight stays of up to 5 nights at a time. You will also be closely supported by our in‑house Apprenticeship Coordinator as well as the Body Shop Manager and your mentor.
