Opportunity
We are currently looking for a highly organised and detail-focused Bodyshop Development Manager with relevant body repair industry expertise, who can help us develop and deliver our clients business strategies.
As a Bodyshop Development Manager, you will be responsible for managing and improving standards compliance and business performance within our client’s body repair network. Key responsibilities include providing expert guidance, coaching, leadership and motivation to body repairers, across all areas of their business to achieve exceptional business performance and the highest standards of repair quality and customer satisfaction.
Working from a home base, you will lead by example with a strong customer focus and commercial awareness. You will have the ability to work to tight deadlines whilst managing our client’s priorities. You will need highly effective communication, influencing and negotiating skills. You will be a high performer who consistently exceeds targets and expectations.
Computer literacy is an essential component of the role, as you will be managing key performance data and reports on Avant’s unique software systems, monitoring and reporting on retailers and bodyshops within approved networks.
Key Responsibilities
While this role encompasses a range of duties, the core elements include:
- Implementation of client’s strategic programmes.
- Review and approve Marketing plans created by Bodyshops.
- Identify business improvement opportunities across different types of Bodyshops to increase repair volumes and profitability.
- Review and feedback Mystery Shop feedback.
- Monitor and report on network compliance at month end.
- Support training analysis and track Bodyshop progress against mandatory requirements.
- Contribute to standards reviews, process improvements, and wider programme development.
- Promote, monitor and review performance of Bodyshop’s engagement in the Total Loss Avoidance programme.
- Proactively promote the benefits of the client’s Approved Bodyshop Parts Programme.
- Proactively promote the benefits of the client’s Approved Bodyshop Paint and Consumables programme.
- Support the Regional Aftersales Managers with the promotion and development of body repair strategies for Retailers.
- Promote the client’s Accident Support and Insurance customer retention products at Retailer and Bodyshop level to maximise uptake.
- Review and report on Bodyshop KPI data including analysis of data quality.
- To provide support with the setting of targets for the key profit areas of the business.
- To promote, monitor and review Bodyshop’s’ performance against set targets.
- Identify significant business opportunities and support / coach Bodyshop’s in the implementation of effective Business Improvement Plans.
- Complete visit reports and action plans from visits, within a central Approved Bodyshop Portal.
- Manage Bodyshop performance to meet an Audit First Time Pass Rate (FTPR) within a defined Region.
Key Requirements
- Previous management experience, ideally within the automotive, bodyshop, or compliance environment.
- High attention to detail, especially when managing data and documentation.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage your own time and handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Effective coaching skills to staff at all levels.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook, as well as CRM and compliance platforms.
- A collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- A proactive and self-motivated approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Negotiating skills when dealing with internal and external staff.
- Proven ability to deliver agreed targets within strict deadlines.
