A leading Brand Experience Agency is seeking a Head of Account Management to lead and scale the accounts function, focused initially on managing key client relationships with a major global tech brand and a leading cloud solutions distributor. This senior hire will combine strategic oversight, commercial growth, and leadership across key accounts with a strong agency background in marketing, events, experiential, and training delivery.
The main focus of the role is a “land and expand” strategy — driving increased spend from existing clients by deepening relationships across departments, uncovering new opportunities, and maximising value-add. Working closely with the Business Development Executive (who generates meetings) and the business owners (who lead and win new business pitches), the successful candidate will take full ownership of client success and long-term revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as strategic lead across key client accounts, driving relationship depth and account performance.
- Focus on a land and expand strategy: grow spend within existing accounts through cross-department engagement and proactive value-add solutions.
- Build and grow the account team, hiring an Account Manager within 2–3 months.
- Oversee the full client lifecycle: onboarding, strategy, creative execution, delivery, and wrap-up.
- Collaborate with the Head of Delivery, who manages the PM team, to ensure seamless project implementation and campaign execution.
- Drive client retention, satisfaction, and incremental revenue growth (target: 50%+ uplift).
- Work with the internal delivery structure to install a dedicated PM for implementation and ongoing campaign delivery (6-month+ horizon).
- Operate accounts as independent profit centres, hitting revenue and margin targets.
- Lead and win organic growth pitches within existing clients.
- Support overall business development with insights from the field and client trends.
Skills and Experience
- 5+ years in a senior account leadership role within a creative, experiential, or brand marketing agency.
- Proven experience running large-scale campaigns, live events, activations, and training programmes.
- Demonstrated success in managing and growing large client accounts (e.g., global tech and cloud services brands).
- Skilled at hiring, coaching, and scaling high-performing account teams.
- Excellent collaboration with internal creative, delivery, and new business teams.
- Strong commercial and operational acumen – confident managing budgets, margin, and delivery quality.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on, proactive approach.
Qualifications
- Project management certifications (e.g., PMP) are a plus but not essential.
