Actionstep is a pioneer in the development and sale of software‐as‐a‐service (SaaS) products, specializing in the delivery of Legal Practice Management software. The Sales Team is essential for building strong customer and partner relationships that enable the achievement of business targets. It projects a positive first impression of Actionstep, accurately represents the product and value proposition, and articulates how Actionstep can enable customers to be successful by giving them the time and freedom to focus on what they do best – 'be lawyers'. Continuous improvement of sales methodology and capability across the entire sales function is a key focus.

THE PURPOSE OF YOUR ROLE

The Solutions Engineer works closely with the Sales Team to demonstrate the value of Actionstep, address customer challenges, and ensure successful adoption of our solutions.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Develop a deep understanding of Actionstep's product offerings and stay updated on industry trends.
  • Collaborate with the product development team to stay informed about upcoming features and enhancements.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations to showcase Actionstep's solutions.
  • Partner with sales representatives to understand customer requirements and align Actionstep's solutions with their needs.
  • Provide pre‐sales technical support, addressing prospect inquiries and concerns.
  • Collaborate with sales representatives to prepare and deliver compelling proposals and technical documentation.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, offering technical guidance and expertise to customers throughout the sales cycle.
  • Conduct training sessions for sales teams to ensure they are equipped with the technical knowledge to effectively sell Actionstep's solutions.
  • Develop and maintain sales collateral, including technical documentation, case studies, and solution briefs.
  • Travel as required or directed by your Leader.

Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with all internal and external parties, ensuring transparent, proactive and effective communication.
  • Attend and proactively contribute to customer, partner and internal meetings with the view to add value constructively.

Professional Development

  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitive products and emerging technologies.
  • Continuously update technical knowledge to effectively address evolving customer needs.
  • Actively look to build your own career through delivery of self and assisted professional development initiatives.
  • Be a thought leader both within Actionstep and in the wider industry.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practice patterns, products and technologies and assist in process improvement activities as required.

  • Essential: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering) or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience in a sales engineering or technical pre‐sales role within the technology industry.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and non‐technical audiences.
  • Strong problem‐solving skills and the ability to think strategically about business challenges.
  • Willingness to travel for on‐site customer engagements as needed.
  • Comfortable working within Office 365.

Desirable

  • Experience in Salesforce.com.
  • Exposure and knowledge of the legal industry.
