Lead, Empower, and Transform the Future of SME Legal Sales – Join a Team Driven by Trust, Innovation, and Results. Warning – If you’re after a cushy middle-management job, this isn’t for you. We’re a fast-paced, entrepreneurial SaaS business obsessed with 10x growth and tangible results. We need ‘A Players’ and we’ll explain why… Actionstep UK is transforming the legal practice management software space – growing tenfold in the past three years and still accelerating at 25% quarter-on-quarter. Our success stems from two things: an outstanding SaaS platform and an unstoppable, entrepreneurial team.

The UK Sales Manager Role

You’ll oversee a team of Account Executives selling our platform to small and medium-sized law firms. Your mission: enable your people to forge meaningful client relationships, solve genuine business challenges, and consistently surpass revenue targets. You’ll work closely with the Regional VP (who leads mid-market sales) to ensure a unified approach across the UK. You’ll champion a high-trust, high-autonomy environment where your team is empowered to think boldly and iterate quickly. Expect to roll up your sleeves when needed – especially in fast-moving or complex deals – whilst maintaining a flexible structure that keeps everyone aligned. Direct, thoughtful feedback is the norm, not an exception, and you’ll regularly use data insights to steer your strategy and coaching sessions.

In this role, you will:

  • Build and lead a thriving, high performing team that can consistently achieve and outperform team targets.
  • Shape and execute a sales strategy for SME law firms, including territory planning and segmentation.
  • Champion rapid iteration, adapting to market signals in near-real time. Celebrate wins, learn from misses, and constantly refine your team’s approach.
  • Act as an escalation point for customer and prospect issues and take ownership of problem resolution.
  • Align with the Regional VP, ensuring SME and mid-market sales strategies form a cohesive whole.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally – with Marketing, Partnerships, and Product – to develop compelling campaigns and product positioning for the SME segment.
  • Track pipeline metrics closely, offering just enough structure (e.g., CRM best practices, deal qualification frameworks) to keep the team focussed and nimble.
  • Promote brand advocacy and storytelling, ensuring your AEs clearly communicate Actionstep’s unique value to SME law firms.
  • Provide clear context instead of heavy rules, trusting your team to exercise good judgement whilst maintaining accountability for results.

About You

  • Proven B2B SaaS leadership experience – legal sector expertise is a bonus.
  • You set bold targets and guide your team to meet them with clarity of purpose, not micromanagement.
  • A high-trust leader who gives talented people autonomy, yet knows when to dive in and offer strategic support.
  • Proficient at territory planning for diverse SME markets – balancing coverage with depth.
  • Financially astute, comfortable linking individual deals to commercial metrics (CAC, LTV, ROI).
  • Strong EQ, tailoring your coaching style to individual motivators and celebrating collective achievements.
  • Able to iterate quickly, pivoting tactics as soon as data or market insights suggest a need for change.
  • Skilled in engaging storytelling, ensuring your team can articulate how Actionstep solves everyday pain points for law firms.
  • Outstanding communicator, direct but thoughtful in delivering feedback and fostering open dialogue.
  • Eager to grow with the role, viewing SME firms not as a smaller market but as dynamic partners with big potential.

What We Offer in Return

  • A unique leadership opportunity to shape the future of a fast-scaling SaaS business.
  • A culture rooted in autonomy, trust, and context – not draconian rules.
  • Competitive salary and a generous benefits package.
  • Unlimited holiday to help you recharge and maintain balance.
  • Pension contributions.
  • Private medical, dental, and life insurance.
  • Regular socials, lunches, and events.
  • A collaborative environment that encourages innovation, integrity, and tangible impact.
  • Ongoing training and development – grow with a world-class team.

Sound Like You? Apply here for a direct route to our Regional VP. We can’t wait to see if you’re as excited about Actionstep’s future as we are!
