This role will be instrumental in developing our work with separated and age disputed young people. You would be joining a passionate and highly skilled team, all wanting to make a difference to young people’s lives.

Since 2019, GMYN has delivered dedicated support for separated young people across Greater Manchester. Our newly funded Beeing Together project builds on this foundation, combining high-quality opportunities and support for young people with the development of a sustainable model for long‑term impact. Central to this is the Beeing Insight Network, which brings together professionals across Greater Manchester to strengthen collaboration, share learning, and improve support for separated and age‑disputed young people across the region.

We are looking for a Programme Manager to lead our Beeing Together project while also contributing to our wider Care Experienced Young People programme. This is an opportunity to lead a high‑profile piece of work that combines programme leadership, partnership development, project management, and a strong commitment to youth voice. You will manage a dedicated team, lead relationships with partners and stakeholders, and ensure the successful delivery of high‑quality services for separated and age‑disputed young people. Alongside this, you will support the development and delivery of additional projects that strengthen GMYN’s wider offer for care‑experienced young people across Greater Manchester.

This role offers the chance to shape support for separated and age‑disputed young people across Greater Manchester, influence practice across the region, and contribute to the ongoing development of GMYN’s wider offer for care‑experienced young people. If you have experience managing programmes and projects, a strong understanding of the experiences of separated, age‑disputed, and care‑experienced young people, and the ability to turn ideas into impactful services and partnerships, we would love to hear from you.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the successful delivery, quality, and performance of GMYN’s project for separated and age‑disputed young people.
  • Developing and managing projects and services, including GMYN’s wellbeing support offer for young people experiencing age disputes.
  • Ensuring GMYN projects are delivered safely, inclusively, and to a high standard, with appropriate safeguarding measures in place.
  • Building and sustaining strategic partnerships with delivery organisations, commissioners, local authorities, and regional stakeholders to support programme development, investment, and sustainability.
  • Representing GMYN at strategic forums relating to migration, care experience, youth participation, and community integration.
  • Ensuring young people play an active role in shaping, evaluating, and influencing programmes through co‑production and youth voice approaches.
  • Convening and facilitating partnership and steering group meetings to strengthen collaboration and improve outcomes for young people.
  • Line managing staff, supporting their professional development, and promoting a culture of reflective practice, learning, and trauma‑informed delivery.
  • Performing safeguarding responsibilities at Designated Safeguarding Officer level and responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
  • Leading monitoring, evaluation, learning, and reporting processes, using data and insight to demonstrate impact and inform continuous improvement.
  • Reporting on programme performance to senior leaders, trustees, funders, and other stakeholders.
  • Carrying out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities that contribute to the organisation’s overall aims and objectives.
