We provide a practical response to those in crisis, suffering hardship or who are at risk. We rebuild lives for the long‑term, enabling people to live in a safe, healthy, and secure environment.

About the job: Morning Star hostel provides a pathway out of homelessness for single men with low support needs, and it provides high‑quality, single‑room accommodation with 24‑hour staffing for 20 men in Hulme. Therefore, we are looking to recruit a Night Support Worker to work overnight to ensure a smooth‑running service for our hostel.

You will:

  • Provide a friendly and professional welcome to residents coming in and out of the building.
  • Spend time with residents when they are in communal areas.
  • Ensure high standards of cleanliness and comfort in the building to create a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Assist in the smooth running of the accommodation/hostel such as maintaining a safe environment, monitoring CCTV, answering telephone calls and undertaking health and safety checks.
  • Log information for the day staff and provide a detailed handover.
  • Maintain the security of the building and report any incidents or accidents to on call staff/emergency services.
  • Support residents by signposting them to support services and respond to any need for first aid.

Experience of working within a residential setting or similar and interaction with people that are homeless is essential.
