We connect people with what’s happening in their community, develop community ideas into action, strengthen local organisations, and provide strategic influence for the charity and voluntary sector. The Action Together team is vital in achieving the charity's purpose - to maximise opportunities to create positive social change; promote social justice and harness social benefit; and to strengthen the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sector.
This post will support the Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) work in Darnhill, Heywood. The post holder will co-ordinate the delivery partners of the alliance, plan and facilitate meetings and events, report on progress and raise awareness of the projects. The Darnhill alliance is two years into their work and needs a strong community leader to support their delivery and advocate for them in strategic spaces. Additionally, you will support them to explore and access external funding to expand their work and work to ensure sustainability of project delivery.
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about tackling inequality and promoting social justice, with a strong understanding of the VCFSE sector and a commitment to inclusive working practices. You will have experience building trusted relationships, facilitating conversations across differing viewpoints, and turning ideas into practical action. You will have worked within, or closely alongside, the VCFSE sector, particularly with small community and volunteer-led groups, and will be confident in advocating for the sector while supporting organisations to grow and thrive.
