NEPHRA is looking for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and community-minded Community Garden Activity Lead to take responsibility for the day-to-day development and use of our community garden. This is a varied, hands-on role combining horticulture, activity delivery, volunteer support, community engagement and site development.
The successful candidate will help ensure that the garden is a productive, welcoming and well-maintained community space. They will plan and deliver engaging seasonal gardening activities, support volunteers, work with community groups and help develop new opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy and learn from the garden.
We are looking for someone who is confident working independently, has practical horticultural knowledge and enjoys working with people. The role will suit someone who can move comfortably between practical gardening, leading a group activity, supporting volunteers, planning future sessions and completing administration. Being enthusiastic about working with people and supporting the local community is a must.
The postholder will have responsibility for coordinating volunteers and activities but will not have formal line management responsibility.
