We’re looking for a skilled and compassionate Children and Young People’s Counsellor to deliver short-term therapeutic support that improves emotional wellbeing, builds resilience and helps young people move forward with confidence.

About you

Are you an experienced Children’s & Young Person’s Counsellor looking for a fulfilling role where you can make a difference? Working closely with the Children’s and Young People’s Therapeutic Wellbeing Service Manager, your role will be to ensure delivery of a high-quality counselling service that is trauma-informed, ethical and supports key outcomes. Your role will include contributing to a wider counselling team to develop and maintain a safe, professional and accessible service. You will also work with the Therapeutic Wellbeing Service Management Team and Clinical Supervisors to ensure services are delivered to a high standard in line with TLC’s values and the BACP Ethical Framework.

The Role

You’ll work directly with children and young people aged between 5-18 years who are facing emotional health, mental health and wellbeing challenges. You will manage your own caseload, deliver therapeutic interventions, build trusted relationships and work closely with families, referral partners and other professionals to provide joined-up support. The role aims to support children and young people living with complex home lives by giving them a safe and confidential place to speak openly and express their feelings. This role will suit counsellors with a flexible and adaptable attitude to working within several different settings.
