Surplus with Purpose assists FareShare in redistributing thousands of tonnes of surplus fresh fruit and vegetables to charities and community organizations. Run by charity EMERGE 3Rs, FareShare Greater Manchester (FSGM) is a major food redistribution charity in the city-region, fighting food poverty, hunger, and food waste.
We are excited to add a new Driver/Warehouse Operative to our team to support our Surplus with Purpose scheme and our daily operations. A typical day includes:
- Conducting the daily van safety check

- Safely building pallets and loading them onto the van
- Unloading at the Community Food Members' (CFMs) site
- Collecting empty trays and returning them to our warehouse

- Undertaking warehouse duties such as order picking, cleaning, goods-in, and stock rotation as needed
You are the face of FSGM to our CFMs, so excellent customer service and communication skills are essential, along with a commitment to working in a culturally sensitive manner.
