The predicted salary is between 30000 - 42000 £ per year.

We have an opportunity for a Children, Young People and Families Practitioner to join the organisation on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Children, Young People and Families Service Manager, the Children, Young People and Families Practitioner will be responsible for providing initial discussions with children, young people and their families, creating a safe environment to explore mental health related concerns and collaboratively decide on necessary support.

You will predominantly be supporting families with children aged 8-18 who are experiencing conflict, relationship and communication difficulties to work through their challenges, using creative solution focused activities. You will use your knowledge, experience and skills to build relationships, provide a range of person-centred interventions and manage a caseload. You may also be required to support through psycho-education, therapeutic groups, assemblies and workshops.

You will be responsible for identifying and responding to risk and safeguarding situations, following organisational policy and procedure. Communicating effectively with your team, manager and external services will be a key component of your duties.

  • Passionate, enthusiastic and experienced in liaising with other professionals.
  • Committed to providing positive outcomes and achieving organisational aims.
  • Experience in holding a caseload of families and a flexible approach, with the ability to respond and adapt to families' needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships, foster collaboration and communicate empathically with families.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Health and Social Care sector and commitment to cross sector working to bring about positive change for the young people and families supported.
  • Demonstrate active listening and curiosity skills and value preventative strategies in supporting mental health and wellbeing.
