Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Assist the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery, deputising fully in their absence.
- Staff Mentoring: Guide and support Room Leaders and Practitioners, ensuring high standards of practice and observations.
- Curriculum Quality: Oversee the delivery of the EYFS curriculum across all rooms, ensuring planning is stimulating and age-appropriate.
- Safeguarding: Act as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or support the DSL in maintaining rigorous child protection standards.
- Parent Partnership: Build strong relationships with parents, handling enquiries and show-arounds with professionalism.
Requirements
- Qualification: Minimum Level 3 NVQ/CACHE Diploma in Early Years (Level 4/5 or Degree desirable).
- Experience: Proven experience in a senior role (e.g., Room Leader, Third in Charge, or Senior Practitioner) within a nursery setting.
- Leadership: Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team effectively.
- Knowledge: Expert knowledge of Ofsted requirements, the EYFS framework, and Safeguarding.
- Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Romford, Essex.
