Action Staffing LTD is a UK-focused recruitment agency specialising in Early Years, Healthcare, Hospitality, and Education recruitment. We work with nurseries, schools, care providers, and other organisations across the UK, connecting them with qualified and fully vetted professionals. Our recruitment process follows UK Safer Recruitment guidelines and Ofsted requirements, ensuring a safe, compliant, and efficient hiring experience for both clients and candidates.

We are recruiting for a Nursery Manager on behalf of a well-established term-time nursery based in London (SW17). This is a full-time, on-site leadership role for an experienced Early Years professional who is passionate about delivering outstanding childcare and education. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the nursery, leading and supporting the staff team, ensuring full compliance with EYFS, safeguarding, health & safety, and Ofsted requirements. You will oversee curriculum planning, staff development, occupancy, parent partnerships, and the overall quality of the provision while creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment for children.

As the nursery operates on a term-time model, the role includes working during Lambeth school terms, one additional week before the academic year to prepare the nursery, and one additional week at the end of each school term to complete administration, compliance, planning, and preparation for the following term. This equates to approximately 45 working weeks per year.

The role is 40 hours per week, typically 8:00 am – 5:00 pm or 9:00 am – 6:00 pm, depending on operational requirements.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Early Years qualification or above (Level 5 or Level 6 desirable).
  • Previous experience as a Nursery Manager, Deputy Manager, or in a senior leadership role within an Early Years setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding, and Ofsted requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
  • Experience in staff supervision, recruitment, performance management, and professional development.
  • Strong organisational skills with experience managing occupancy, budgets, compliance, and nursery operations.
  • Up-to-date safeguarding and paediatric first aid training (or willingness to renew).
  • Passion for delivering outstanding childcare and building positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
