Key Responsibilities
- Dual Leadership: Effectively manage time between administrative office duties and supporting staff/children within the rooms.
- Specialist Roles: Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and SENCO, taking particular lead on these areas during afternoon sessions.
- Curriculum Oversight: Help plan and implement creative activities based on Montessori and EYFS principles to meet each child’s individual needs.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure the setting consistently meets Ofsted, health & safety, and safeguarding regulations.
- External Liaison: Build professional partnerships with parents, carers, and external local agencies.
Requirements
- Qualifications: Must hold a recognized Level 3 Childcare Qualification or higher.
- Experience: 3–4 years of experience in a Senior Nursery role (Room Leader or Third in Charge) is essential.
- Track Record: Previous experience working within a "Good" or "Outstanding" Ofsted setting.
- Skills: Expert knowledge of child development, strong team management skills, and a friendly, composed demeanor.
- Compliance: An Enhanced DBS check is required for this DSL-level role.
Salary & Working Hours
- Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 per annum (Depending on experience).
- Shift patterns:Mornings: 07:30 – 13:30; Afternoons: 12:30 – 18:30.
