Action Staffing is recruiting for an ambitious and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager in London to join a "Good" Ofsted-rated setting in Eltham, South East London. This is the perfect role for an experienced Room Leader ready to step up, or an existing Deputy Manager seeking a new challenge in a supportive environment.

About the Role

As the Deputy Nursery Manager, you will work closely with the Nursery Manager to oversee the daily running of the setting. You will be a role model for the staff team, ensuring the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is delivered to a high standard and that every child receives outstanding care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Assist with the day-to-day management of the nursery, including staff rotas, supervision, and recruitment.
  • Ofsted Compliance: Ensure the nursery remains "inspection ready" at all times and compliant with all Ofsted regulations.
  • Safeguarding: Act as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to ensure the safety and well-being of all children.
  • Mentoring: Support and train the team, ensuring high quality of teaching and learning across all rooms.
  • Partnership: Build strong, trusted relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies.

Entry Requirements

  • MUST hold a minimum Level 3 Diploma in Childcare / Early Years (Level 4/5 or Degree is desirable).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Senior Nursery role (e.g., Room Leader, Third in Charge, or Deputy).
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework, Ofsted regulations, and Safeguarding procedures.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
