Action Staffing Ltd is searching for a dynamic, ambitious, and strategic Nursery Manager to lead an established and successful nursery in the market town of Devizes. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Early Years leader who thrives on outdoor learning and is excited about growing a dedicated forest area into a cornerstone of the nursery’s identity. You will manage a large, high-quality setting (90–100+ capacity) with the full support of a leading education group.
Role: Nursery Manager
Location: Devizes, Wiltshire
Salary: £40,000 – £43,000 per annum (based on experience)
Joining Bonus: £1,000 bonus (upon passing 6-month probation)
Hours: 40 hours per week, 51 weeks a year
Contract: Permanent
Responsibilities
- Leadership: Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring "Good" Ofsted standards and full EYFS compliance.
- Outdoor Vision: Lead and develop the outdoor forest and allotment spaces to enhance the nursery's unique learning environment.
- Financial Management: Manage budgets, control costs, and drive occupancy through proactive marketing and enrolment strategies.
- Team Development: Inspire, recruit, and mentor a large team of professionals, ensuring high morale and continuous professional development.
- Safeguarding: Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), ensuring a culture of proactive vigilance and safety for all children.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Qualification: Level 3, 4, or 5 in Early Years/Childcare (e.g., CACHE, NVQ).
- Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience in nursery management, ideally within a large setting (90+ children).
- Skills: Strong financial awareness, target-driven, and IT literate (experience with systems like EYWorks is a plus).
- Personal Qualities: A "can-do" attitude, resilient, and passionate about creating a homely, high-achieving environment.
